Tough mare who is unbeaten over this C&D; won 4 from 6 last campaign and returned with an encouraging effort when third in the Azeri only beaten narrowly; fitter now and hard to beat here; should have too much.
WHAT A NIGHT AHEAD STATESIDE! It’s a huge weekend with the Kentucky Derby tomorrow but we have the Oaks first tonight and it really is a mouthwatering card. I love SHEDARESTHEDEVIL in the La Troienne Stakes. This mare is unbeaten over track and trip and I thought there was enough encouragement in her return run to make her of strong interest here. Pauline’s Pearl obviously finished in front of her last time and she is the danger again but at this track I think she can readily reverse that form. Battle Bling is a nice filly too so she could have a say but ultimately I think the favourite will pull out more when required in the closing stages. Jilted Bride best of the rest but enough on her plate.

Race 12 Churchill Downs 11.25 Wish You Well (13/8)
Promising filly who faced early pressure for the lead on debut but kept up the gallop and then dug in again up the straight to prevail; lots to like about that and with natural improvement should make it 2-2 here.
Unbeaten filly WISH YOU WELL looks the one to side with at Churchill Downs tonight. She created quite a big impression albeit only winning narrowly on debut. She faced a lot of early pressure for the lead and for a filly so inexperienced I loved the way she just kept rolling to fend them all off before digging in to repel a closer as well. She is only going to improve and looks the class act in this field so set to make it a perfect 2-2. Reagan’s Decision looks the danger having also won on debut before running well enough in Graded company at Keeneland. If she has more to come she could be the one to challenge the selection. Napa Candy is a big price and may well fare best of the rest.
