Newbury 3.55 Persian Force (11/10)

Promising colt who ran out a very impressive winner on debut in the Brocklesby at Doncaster back in March; really picked up strongly at the finish to put daylight between him and his rivals; can remain unbeaten.

Only four runners heading to post for this which is disappointing but I still think we might see a smart one in the shape of PERSIAN FORCE for Richard Hannon. He blew rivals away on debut and I’m expecting him to take this en route to Royal Ascot next month. He looked to possess a nice mix of speed and stamina on debut and clearly has a very bright future. It is noticeable that Aidan O’Brien sends Sierra Blanca here on debut so he would have to be feared but I think the selection is potentially a bit special so he’ll have to go some to overhaul him on debut. Holguin also made a winning start and that came at this track so he has that in favour but he might just be bumping into a couple.

Newmarket 1.50 Ottoman Fleet (13/8)

Ran on strongly once the penny dropped on debut to go down just a neck to his stablemate at Newbury last month; sure to improve from that initial effort and looks well placed to go one better; keep on side.

This should throw up plenty of future winners but looking back through recent runnings Charlie Appleby is a man to keep on side with 3 wins in the race over the last 8 years. He runs OTTOMAN FLEET here who looks to have obvious claims if building on his debut at Newbury last month. He was given a confident ride despite being keen and only lost out to his stablemate by a neck. If stepping forward for the run he will go close again here. Quite a few dangers with the main one looking like Zain Sarinda who just missed out on a hat-trick at Epsom last time. He still looks like he has more to come and will be a player here. Post Impressionist is another one who looks to have a bright future as well.
