NAP – Best selection of the evening
Yarmouth 3.45 Twelfth Knight (10/11)
Looked to need the run when only third on debut at Lingfield but took a big step forward after being gelded to go down less than a length at Thirsk last month, running on well; likely to improve again so hard to beat.
This might not take a great deal of winning so I think that makes TWELFTH KNIGHT a standout. He showed improved form following a gelding operation and first-time cheekpieces when a close second at Thirsk and if he steps forward again he should have these rivals covered. Luna Queen is by Al Kazeem and her best piece of form as a 2yo came when fourth at Doncaster but she was disappointing at Newmarket on final start and might need the run on return. Masterclass has been gelded since we last saw him but again he is likely to benefit from this outing as we haven’t seen him since June almost a year ago. Brazen Diamond also has a future but looks to need more time and experience.
Warwick 4.05 Great D’ange (5/4)
Stayed on well to open his account over fences at just the second attempt over 3 miles here last month; 6lb rise shouldn’t be enough to stop him with further improvement a near certainty; should be hitting the line strong.
There should be plenty more to come from GREAT D’ANGE now he is up and running and this looks a good opportunity for him to double his tally over fences. He impressed last time and a 6lb rise doesn’t look enough to stop him following up. He is unexposed and will be hitting the line strong judging by the way he stayed on last time. The danger looks to be I’m A Starman who ran well when second over hurdles at Newbury last month. He was well beaten on his only try over fences in the past but he is expected to show up better now. Regaby is another one to note but his winning run came to an end on return and he’ll need to leave that way behind to get competitive in this race.
