NAP – Best selection of the evening
Bath 4.20 Charlie’s Yard (9/4)
Left previous form behind making a winning start for his new yard at Kempton at the start of the month, making all in good style unchallenged; 5lb rise looks fair and expected to take all the beating again; hard to oppose.
The money was down for CHARLIE’S YARD on debut for David Evans last time and I think connections have found a good opportunity for him to make it a perfect 2-2 on these shores. He made all to win unchallenged and if he is in the same form here he should take plenty of stopping under just a 5lb rise. Master Grey was given a lot to do at Chepstow last time but stuck to the task and made up some good ground late on. He could be the danger if keeping the selection in sight here. Tinchoo wasn’t disgraced at Ffos Las on final start as a 3yo and may well do better this term but will likely come on for the run. Eagles Dare shouldn’t be too far away either but hard to see him springing an upset.
Lingfield 4.35 Tralee Hills (5/1)
Needed first run back before landing a hat-trick of wins last season; ran on well for fourth on reappearance at Windsor last month and should be spot on for this now; likely to be ridden quietly before swooping late.
I’ve taken a bit of a chance on one here in the shape of TRALEE HILLS. He won 3 times last season and I can see this being run to suit with William Carver likely to just sit off the speed before hopefully picking them off in the closing stages. He showed more than enough on return to suggest he has a big run in him now the cobwebs have been blown away. Mafia Power was nearer last than first at Chester and is on a lengthy losing run so I’m surprised that one is trading as favourite. Antonine Road is the one I see as the danger as he is entitled to step forward from what we’ve seen so far. Sundayinmay isn’t entirely ignored given she has won over C&D but that was a poor run when last seen.
