Improving fast given he won despite doing plenty wrong on handicap debut at Hamilton last month; pushed along early to get a position and then raced keenly taking it up soon enough but always doing enough; should follow up.
George Boughey has been keen to get SIMPLY SONDHEIM out quickly following that win on handicap debut at Hamilton last week. He did it with plenty to spare so carrying a penalty here going up a furlong in trip he should take a lot of stopping under William Buick. He is still learning his trade so if he can get away on terms and settle better then it’s really hard to see him beaten. Big Little Lie has blinkers on for the first time but needs to improve on recent form to lay a glove on this potential handicap blot. Pilot Wings could be a danger if applying himself as he can be temperamental at times. Mutara wasn’t disgraced at Wolverhampton last time but again will need more to spring an upset.

Ffos Las 8.00 Pilgrims King (11/10)
Promising sort who looked to put it altogether over C&D last time with the penny dropping late; should build on that now he knows what is required and a 6lb rise shouldn’t be enough to stop him; one to keep on side.
It was really quite impressive the way PILGRIMS KING sprinted through the line over C&D last time. He was keen throughout and made his fair share of errors but the penny looked to drop late and he moved into it strongly before really picking up well. The winning margin was less than a length but he was value for far more than that. The rise shouldn’t bother him so with more to come he is a confident selection to follow up. Karannelle could be the one to chase him home as she ran better than she has been to finish second at Hereford in April but her long losing run would have to be concerning. Rock On Tommy doesn’t look to be running well enough to win this and Social City hard to fancy as well.
