Musselburgh 3.45

This looks like a great opportunity for Kingman colt FINN’S CHARM to get his head in front after going very close on debut. The time of the race looks good and you would think he will improve for that run last month and is the one to beat as the odds suggest. He will likely go forward under Joe Fanning and they will likely struggle to keep tabs on him.

With Holloway Boy now a non runner debutant Disputed might emerge as the main threat. She cost 25,000 guineas as a yearling and is related to some useful types. The stable are 1-3 with 2yo newcomers this season.

Perth 4.01

Hard to rule out any of the 5 with any real confidence but I can see EXELERATOR EXPRESS going close. He needed the run on return at Aintree when down the field behind Sam Brown but stepped forward to get his head back in front last time and up 5lb should go close again here. That was solid form and he is hard to pick holes in. Hopefully Minella Trump and Romain De Senam take each other on up front as that will suit and help set it up for him.

Broken Quest might be the outsider of the field but I see him as the danger. He has won his last 3 and his jumping has proved a real asset. He is up another 8lb but you’d be foolish to rule out another big run from the old boy.

Musselburgh 4.16

Another fiercely competitive handicap and I’ve decided to chance last time out winner RORY following up. He has won over C&D in the past and impressed at Hamilton last time. I can see him rolling in the closing stages and at 13/2 he looks a cracking each way play. Amie Waugh was seen to good effect on him last time and keeps the ride too which has to be seen as a positive.

Only Spoofing is often backed but could only finish third over C&D last time so I wouldn’t want to take a short price about him especially in an apprentice race like this. I think Fashion Advice could prove a greater danger as she likes this track and trip and ran well when second to the progressive Elegant Erin at Carlisle last time and will strip fitter now.

Musselburgh 4.45

This looks like a very competitive sprint and it is worth taking a chance on one at a bigger price. TIME SHADOW dropping back down to 5 furlongs off a mark of 73 should see her in better light than her last run at 6 furlongs last time. She ran two nice races over this trip on the all-weather and if she can replicate it here she is a big price.

High Velocity has been given a chance by the handicapper so might bounce back to form here. I do think he is better on the AW though so that is a slight negative. Sacred Jewel is unexposed and won nicely at Leicester so will likely end up being the gamble of the race.

Musselburgh 5.15

The way EVALUATION put the race to bed at York last month to make it 3-3 for this yard was mightily impressive. He powered to the front and still did it like a horse with a fair bit in hand of his current mark. He is up another 5lb so has now gone up 16lb since his winning run began but you still couldn’t rule out the possibility of more to come. It’s hard to pick holes in that last piece of form and I think everything points towards another big run here.

Geremia was beaten 2 lengths by the selection at York but was hampered on that occasion so looks the biggest danger in this field. Tronador let favourite backers down at Sligo last time but still has to have a chance here going up in trip. Annandale showed little at York but hadn’t been beaten far prior to that and is another one at bigger odds that could show up well for a long way.

Musselburgh 5.45

Another race where plenty have good chances but I think PEARL GLORY still have a lot to come and she probably doesn’t need to find much based on her run in a Group 3 at Lingfield last time out. It was the first run of the season and she only lost out by just under a length and if in the same form will go very close.

Happy Craf is very interesting based on her Bahrain form and could be the main danger in the field on her first run for Martin Smith. Snooze N You Lose has been nibbled at and has some good form in the book so also deserves respect.

Musselburgh 6.15

I’m looking forward to seeing TAMASKA out again here. He has won 2 of his last 3 and looked a touch unlucky not to land the hat-trick last time having been given enough to do. If he turns up in similar form here I think he’ll win this. He is up another 5lb but still has potential off this mark and as long as he isn’t given too much to do he will be finishing best of all.

Bringitonboris looked poised to run well so might emerge as the main danger. Mister Bluebird is another one to note having stuck to the task at York last time. If he gets the trip he could get involved as well. Starshiba is well treated now but does need to show more to land a blow.

Musselburgh 6.45

In what looks another tight race with the bookies pricing it 5/1 the field at the time of writing I am going with a favourite of ours this season COLINTON. He has improved with every run this year and won nicely last time at Haydock. He is up another 5lb but it looks well within him and he should go well for us again.

I think this trip is Emaraty Hero’s optimum and he will be the main danger off a mark of 80. Wickywickywheels is unexposed and impressed at Hamilton so she also has to enter the reckoning. Graces Quest is still one to be interested in as well as she was only beaten a length last time but this is a quick enough turnaround.
