MY US NAP WON AGAIN LAST NIGHT AND IS CHASING A HAT-TRICK ON TUESDAY!

Race 6 Finger Lakes 8.25 Zircon (11/8)

Promising sort who created quite a big impression winning convincingly on debut here last month; step slowly into stride but quickly recovered sweeping up wide to take it up and find plenty; will improve so hard to oppose.

The likeable ZIRCON is looking to make it a perfect 2-2 at Finger Lakes tonight. Despite being a step slow into stride he showed serious early speed to range upsides the leader and then power to the front. He was always doing enough in the closing stages and the front pair pulled a country mile clear from the rest. He is sure to improve from that initial effort and it’s no surprise to see him prominent in the betting. Acalteque won really impressively on penultimate start but that must have taken it out of him as he was a tired horse when down the field last time and has a bit to prove now. Honorable Avenue was only beaten a length when last seen but will likely come on for the run on return.

Race 2 Fort Erie 9.33 Flex (13/8)

Needs to build on recent efforts to win this but plenty of early speed so with added fitness on side now he could be dangerous if he gets to the front and dictates; might always be holding them in the closing stages; worth chancing.

I have to be honest it’s not the best night Stateside tonight so while FLEX doesn’t jump off the page he does look to have found a good opportunity to make the breakthrough. I think he’ll go forward and as long as he doesn’t do too much early in the race he may well be far enough to hold on in the closing stages. The only real danger I see in here is Thelonious. He has had less chances but has been beaten 10 lengths, 11 lengths and 5 and a half lengths last time so far this season and his finishing efforts just don’t inspire. If the fav is in the clear he should be galloping on to do enough in the closing stages. Of the rest Wonnefrac clipped heels on return and might be worth another chance.
