Progressive colt who impressed completing the hat-trick in good style at Nottingham last month, ridden clear to win by 5 lengths at the line; 9lb rise makes life tougher but not done improving yet especially up to this trip.
The way MOSTLY CLOUDY has been winning even a further 9lb rise might not be enough to anchor him here. He has won his last two starts by a nearly combined 10 lengths and looks thoroughly progressive now. He has been sent off favourite or joint favourite on all of those wins and that very much looks the case again here. The way he has been finishing his races this step up to 2 miles could be a catalyst for further improvement and I’m keen to keep him on side. Storm Chaser was agonisingly denied by a neck yesterday and if turned out quickly would have to be considered but this trip would test her especially given that aggressive style. Blistering Barney may be a greater threat.

Sandown 3.30 Golden Voice (11/8)
Likeable type who continues to improve with experience making it 2 wins from his last 3 knuckling down well to prevail over C&D last month; 5lb rise fair and with the promise of more to come looks well placed to follow up.
The wind op and gelding operation have likely brought out the best in GOLDEN VOICE and he looks a horse trending the right way now. He may have only won by a head last time but the runner-up was really game and he had to dig deep to see him off. That horse has disappointed since but probably ran a bit too soon as he had a hard race that day. The fourth Auditor won at Newmarket next time out to frank the form. I rate the third Lethal Nymph and the fifth Notions so I think it’s solid enough. The 5lb rise looks lenient to me and I think he can improve again to take this. Galiac is also going the right way and has Buick up so looks the most likely danger. He can be keen though which is a negative.
