MY NAP RUNS IN THE VERY FIRST RACE OF THE DAY AT ASCOT ON SATURDAY!

Ascot 1.00 Amanzoe (6/4)

Progressive filly who has won 3 of her last 4 now; impressive at Hamilton and then relished the step up in trip staying on strongly to win at Sandown last time; almost certainly more to come yet.

I was really impressed with AMANZOE at Sandown and with scope for further improvement I think she can make it 4 wins from her last 5 at Ascot on Saturday. This track should suit and she remains thoroughly unexposed over a mile and a quarter. She hit the line with plenty of conviction last time and it’s no surprise to see her figuring prominently in the betting. Joanna Mason gets the leg up because it’s the Shergar Cup and hopefully she can take her opportunity. Adjourn came there readily before always doing enough to win at Doncaster and he looks the danger off the back of that. Of those at bigger prices Value Theory has been running well in defeat and should hit the frame.

Haydock 4.40 Whitebeam (13/8)

Caravaggio filly who won despite doing plenty wrong at Newbury; took a keen hold early but still ran on well and found extra when needed; given time since and can improve again on handicap debut.

With 2 wins from her first 3 starts the promising WHITEBEAM can prove a cut above her rivals at Haydock on Saturday. She really impressed me last time and I’m confident she can prove ahead of a mark of 91 now sent handicapping. Thunder Legend is yet to win for this yard (previously trained by Hugo Palmer) but has gone close the last twice and his form is hard to knock. He looks the obvious danger to the selection despite Zero Carbon’s winning run. The latter kept rolling to win here last month but he needs to prove himself on this likely faster surface (soft ground before). Liamarty Dreams has won over C&D in the past but disappointed at York when last seen so would need to bounce back to have a say.
