MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 6 AT WARWICK FARM ON WEDNESDAY!

Race 6 Warwick Farm 5.40 Headwall (best price 6/4)

Improving with experience and came home strongly when only narrowly denied at Randwick on reappearance last time; open to further progress and looks well placed to make it 3 wins from 4 starts.

Hard to look past HEADWALL at Warwick Farm on Wednesday morning. This horse was 2-2 last term and returned with a big run in defeat beaten less than a length at Randwick last time. He will strip fitter and can keep improving so should be the one to be on here. Lascars won at Caulfield last year but has been beaten 3 times since. Didn’t shape badly when fourth at Randwick last time though and if building on that will be the danger. Garrison won at Randwick on penultimate start but blew out last time finishing last at Rosehill and that leaves him with a point to prove so best watched for now. Allusionist scored at Gosford on penultimate run and wasn’t disgraced in third at Randwick so is another one likely to be fighting it out to hit the frame.

Race 2 Sandown 4.40 Zoupurring (best price 7/4)

Promising colt who caught the eye running a big race on debut when runner-up at Pakenham; sure to come on from that initial experience and looks well placed to go one better and make the breakthrough.

With that debut run under his belt ZOUPURRING should be awfully hard to beat here. He was only beaten 2 and a half lengths at Pakenham and with natural improvement looks to have a big chance of going one better. The second favourite is Gusmao who is 0/8 now so that tells you a lot about the lack of quality in opposition. That horse did finished second beaten just a nose at Geelong though so if building on that could run second. Magarten has only had 2 starts but hasn’t shown a great deal and definitely needs to improve to spring an upset. Miss Jenni Lynn is making her debut here but hasn’t trialed and the market isn’t exactly screaming about her so she is likely to come on for this experience. Valspar best of the rest but plenty of work on.
