Race 5 Kalgoorlie 7.37 Magic Will Reign (1/1)
Good looking chestnut who has knocked hard on the door the last twice and this looks a good opportunity to get back to winning ways; looks easier than his last assignment so should be up to justifying favouritism.
Hard to get away from MAGIC WILL REIGN here for Peter Fernie. He has finished second the last twice hitting the line strong and if he gets the gaps he will be finishing best here. It looks easier so he really shouldn’t have any excuses. Sluice Box is the only danger for me. He won at Geraldton three starts back and has held his form well since finishing second last time. The wide gate is off-putting here though so the fav should have too much when they knuckle down to fight this one out.

Race 2 Sunshine Coast 4.40 The Investigator (13/8)
Useful type who deserves to get his head back in front; finished strongly for second last time and goes back up in trip now so looks to have major claims; backform reads well so every chance of going one better now.
We head to Sunshine Coast for our second best bet of the day Down Under and THE INVESTIGATOR looks good value to come out on top. His overall record isn’t massively appealing with just one win from sixteen but he has some very solid efforts in defeat and won’t get many better opportunities than this. That’s reflected in his price and I wouldn’t want to be against him. Never Lose Faith has one win from seven starts and looks the main danger. Needs to do better than what she showed last time.
