Smart type who already has 3 wins on the board; galloped them into submission first-up at this trip in a fast time and then won head in chest at Sale before the Flemington near-miss; drawn to go forward and should prove too good.

I was gutted we couldn’t land the NAP last night and bring home the double. It was still a really profitable night Down Under though and things are going great right now. We’re looking for our fourth winner from the last five nights for our Aussie NAP and METEORITE looks the one to beat at Moonee Valley. This 4yo is progressive and ran a big race in defeat last time. Prior to that he had really impressed winning two in a row and he can get back on the upgrade tonight in this easier contest. Whipcracker Way is a promising sort himself and he didn’t get much luck last time so looks the one to give the selection a race. I fancy the pair to battle it out. Rock Tycoon is on a hat-trick but needs more again.

Race 8 Terang 5.40 The Mockingbird (6/4)

Talented mare who ran a really encouraging race back from 6 months off the track when second at Warrnambool earlier this month, beaten less than a length; open to improvement and fully expected to go one better.

Looking forward to seeing THE MOCKINGBIRD out again. This mare was highly tried towards the backend of last campaign and went close on return. She remains open to further progress and this looks a good opportunity for her to get back in the winners enclosure. The mile will suit and she is fitter now so what’s not to like? This should pan out well for her and she should be finishing best under Yendall. Chloe’s Day is a useful type but this trip looks on the sharp side even though she has won over it. She should be hitting the frame but looks vulnerable for win purposes especially given the potential the favourite brings to the table. Sir Marengo didn’t shape badly on return. Can run well.
