Race 4 Rockhampton 6.12 Avocado Sunset (10/11)
Promising type who rounded off last campaign bringing up the hat-trick in good style over track and trip making all; shaped as though needing the run when fourth on return; fitter now and should take some pegging back.
The Aussie NAP was back in the winners enclosure overnight so hopefully we can follow up at Rockhampton on Tuesday morning. With 3 wins from 6 starts AVOCADO SUNSET is building a nice profile now and with the cobwebs blown away on her first start for 4 months here last time she can strip fitter and regain the winning thread here. She is clearly progressing with experience and it’s no surprise to see her figure prominently in the betting. Dr Neigh landed back-to-back wins at Mackay and Rockhampton before running a bit flat last time. If he bounces back he is the most likely danger to the favourite. Lady Lowburn has just 1 win from 10 but is also worth a second look.

THE AUSSIE NB (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 5 AT SCONE ON TUESDAY MORNING!
Race 5 Scone 6.40 Empowerment (2/1)
Progressive mare who has won 2 of her last 3 and impressed last time always doing enough to win convincingly over slightly shorter here; 1-1 at the track and with more to come back up in trip she can go in again.
This looks a good opportunity for EMPOWERMENT to make it 3 wins from her last 4 starts. I think she’ll race forward and Oakfield Navajo and Dicko’s Mate also likely to show early pace she could get a nice toe into it before being in the box seat to pounce. The most obvious danger is Chomeur as she came home nicely from off the pace at Dubbo and backed that up with a very good second at Rosehill when last seen. Can improve after just 8 starts so looks the threat to the selection. Berruti is running consistently well and is best of the race. Quite a bit of dead wood in here so I’ll be surprised if anything at a bigger prices manages to land a blow in all honesty.
