Race 4 Ipswich 6.42 Got The Lot (13/8)

Caught the eye going close at Toowoomba on penultimate start last month before improving to win in a better race than this over a similar trip here last time; 3kg claim for star apprentice helps with the weight rise; hard to oppose.

Not the best racing overnight Down Under I have to be honest but GOT THE LOT should take care of this bunch at Ipswich on Thursday. He looks the most progressive horse in this line-up and certainly wasn’t winning out of turn last time. If he builds on that he should have too much for these as it looks slightly easier if anything. Skagerak still only has the 1 win from 14 starts but has 7 placed efforts and should run his usual consistent race again. Head Up High might be a greater danger for win purposes as he knocked on the door when second at Gold Coast last time. If he can bring his best form here he should give the favourite a race but even then still might come up short.

Race 6 Pinjarra Park 8.50 Prince Devoutly (2/1)

Took a couple of runs to hit top gear last campaign and already has 3 wins to his name; can progress again and looks to have been found the right race to take advantage; obvious chance and worth keeping on side.

We head over to Pinjarra Park overnight for our second best bet Down Under and PRINCE DEVOUTLY can take care of these. He is building a nice profile with 3 wins from 9 starts and his two efforts since returning suggest another win may well be imminent here. No Surrender and Run D’affaire Run are likely to go forward and that should give the favourite a target to aim at in the closing stages. Beat The Bro looks the danger but he doesn’t win much. Overall record reads 2 wins from 19 starts but 11 placed efforts in there so good chance of chasing the selection home. Native Chimes might run better than her odds suggest but is largely exposed compared to the two market principals.
