Race 3 Belmont 6.37 Frigid (5/6)

Good looking grey chestnut filly who was well backed on debut but inexperience probably cost her racing wide before coming home well beaten half a length into third; sure to improve and looks the one to beat in this field.

With usual improvement FRIGID should be hard to beat at Belmont on Thursday. She ran a really encouraging race on debut to finish third and with that experience under her belt I expect her to open her account at the second time of asking. She has already proved popular in the betting so should go off a warm order. She has the rail draw here which will help and it’s hard to see her getting beaten. Seeable ran well on debut beaten a nose into second. This tougher but he is going the right way as well and should chase the favourite home. Tales Of Manhattan showed ability on debut and is also worth a second look today and going forward. Hard to see anything else springing an upset.

Race 7 Port Macquarie 6.10 Five Crowns (11/8)

Likeable type who is a perfect 2-2 after winning on debut at Muswellbrook and then following up convincingly at Newcastle last time; sure to keep improving with experience and looks well placed to bring up the hat-trick.

I think it’s hard to look past the unbeaten FIVE CROWNS here after he showed a good attitude to prevail narrowly on debut at Muswellbrook and then backed that up again to win really well at Newcastle last time. This tougher again but certainly trending the right way and can complete the hat-trick under Gibbons. Dalgarno has won 2 of his last 3 and looks the main danger to the selection but he has had 11 starts so is exposed in comparison and he could just improve past him. Barry’s Lane continues to run to a consistent level and has been knocking on the door so should be involved for a place. Dulcima has run well the last twice and might not be all that far away either.
