NAP – Best selection of the evening
Sedgefield 4.30 Powerful Position (11/10)
Progressive chaser who was back to winning ways impressively at Ffos Las last month and backed that up with another convincing win over C&D last time, making all; up another 6lb but capable of better yet so should win.
Christian Williams thinks a fair bit of POWERFUL POSITION so I think he can bring up the hat-trick here. He impressed again over this C&D last time and a similar performance this afternoon may well prove good enough to see him come away with the prize again. He has Jack Tudor claiming a handy 3lb again and I think he looks capable of defying the rise in the weights. The most likely danger is the mare Reine Fee who ran well when second at Leicester. She has to prove her stamina up in trip though and is on a lengthy losing run now which has to be slightly concerning. Wigglesworth wasn’t disgraced again last time and is 3lb lower so has claims but I think needs more. The rest are hard to recommend.

Southwell 7.30 Wise Eagle (5/2)
Good looking sort who caught the eye on return only beaten narrowly and improved to get back to winning ways over a similar trip at Newcastle last time, looking better than ever; only up 3lb and looks well placed to follow up.
I can see WISE EAGLE being well backed at Southwell on Tuesday. He has an outstanding strike rate winning 5 times from just 8 runs last year and he clocked a career best to get his head back in front at Newcastle 12 days ago. He is only up 3lb and I think this is another good opportunity for him to go in again. I expect Graham Lee to track the pace through before producing him in the closing stages. Protected Guest is a tricky sort but if he is on a going day he could be a danger to the favourite. Napper Tandy was a respectable fifth here last time and back up in trip might make his presence felt. Fair Star was back to form when third latest and also has to be considered if backing that up here.
