Race 5 Sandown 5.50 Sense Of Honour (5/4)

Promising mare who has won 2 of her 3 starts and showed a good attitude to prevail on final start at Flemington back in the summer last year; form stacks up and likely to improve again; should be spot on following a trial win.

There should be tons more to come from SENSE OF HONOUR and I think she can make a winning return at Sandown on Wednesday. She impressed winning on final start and that made it 2 wins from 3 runs. She won a recent trial and will be spot on for this now. She gets the vote to come out on top before going on to better things in time. Dancelittlesister has knocked on the door the last twice and could emerge as the danger. She will need to progress again though if the favourite is as good as I am hoping. Star Of Manhattan is a decent yardstick but she will also find this tougher. Universal Lady is more exposed than most but could also run well at a price if putting that last run behind her.

Race 6 Warwick Farm 5.40 Diamil (6/4)

Trained by Mick Halford in Ireland and then Ralph Beckett in England; won at Goodwood on final start; encouraging effort over an inadequate trip at Canterbury; sure to step up on that now and easily the one to beat here.

This looks a good opportunity for British raider DIAMIL to open his account Down Under. He impressed on first start at Canterbury finishing runner-up over an inadequate trip. He should find the mile much more suited and looks ready to go one better now. Ita is obviously a solid yardstick and she is the one I expect to keep the selection honest. Main Stage is exposed in comparison but he has some solid form. Not sure a mile suits him best but we’ll see. Welsh Legend has 3 wins and 11 placed efforts from 31 attempts so also has to be considered but she is unlikely to find further improvement so like the latter will definitely need more. The rest are all big prices for a reason I think.
