Race 9 Caulfield 7.53 Mystery Shot (11/10)
Unbeaten gelding who has looked very smart to date; three of his four wins have come over this trip; more to come yet and has a great attitude for the job so going to take a good one to stop him making it 5-5; should prove too strong.
The Aussie NAP was back to winning ways overnight and we have another strong selection on Saturday morning. MYSTERY SHOT hasn’t put a foot wrong so far and looks good value to make it 5-5. This trip looks his optimum and with further gains more likely than not he is extremely hard to oppose here. Sunset Eagle and Regardsmaree are likely to push forward and I can just see him tracking those through before proving too strong. Short price but that’s with good reason.

Race 9 Rosehill 7.45 Varda (6/5)
Promising filly who comes here chasing a hat-trick of wins having bolted up at Canterbury before taking another step forward scoring over C&D last time; has the speed to overcome a wide draw and looks worth keeping on side.
We head to Rosehill on Saturday morning for the NB and VARDA looks a filly firmly on the upgrade now. She has won her last two and I see no reason why she won’t land the hat-trick with plenty in favour. She is drawn wide but has speed to burn so should bounce out brightly and quickly get across. It’s going to take a good one to run her down and I’m not sure there is one in this field. Partners is also chasing three wins in a row and just shades the verdict for the main danger. Hard to see him being good enough to topple the fav.
