THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT RANDWICK ON WEDNESDAY MORNING!
Race 3 Randwick 5.10 Bethencourt (11/10)
Promising type who ran with plenty of encouragement when second on debut at Kembla Grange last month; improved to win at Wyong last time; should know more now and will be fitter so hard to oppose.
The improving BETHENCOURT is bred to come into his own over this longer trip so he is a confident selection to make it two wins from his first three starts. He ran on strongly from midfield to make the breakthrough last time and while this is harder he is open to any amount of improvement so looks one to keep on side as he goes up through the grades. Gone Bye ran well on return when fifth here over 1400m three weeks ago. Will strip fitter now so looks the biggest danger. Rock Amore is consistent and has the blinkers back on but usually finds one or two too good. Royale Marine was slow away last time and prior to that had been progressing so isn’t completely ruled out.

THE AUSSIE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT IPSWICH ON WEDNESDAY!
Race 2 Ipswich 4.18 Kipchoge (5/4)
Set the pace on debut and did all the hard work before finishing third; probably improved to fill the same position here earlier this month and looks to have been found a good opportunity to make the breakthrough now.
Hard to look past KIPCHOGE here following two solid efforts in better company. That form behind Hidden Hail looks strong in the context of this race so he is fully expected to make the most of this opportunity. He should be fitter now and there doesn’t look to be any excuses. Stablemate Good Soize may emerge as one of the dangers. She has trialled well ahead of this so is certainly one to watch at a bigger price. The betting is suggesting Palladas is the main threat though. This gelding clearly has a promising future having shown encouragement in fourth on debut at Eagle Farm having been slowly away. I’ll be surprised if he can overhaul the favourite.
