THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT DOOMBEN IN THE EARLY HOURS OF SATURDAY MORNING!

Race 3 Doomben 2.31 Lyrical Girl (4/5)

Smart mare who keeps getting better; brought up the hat-trick in good style at Sunshine Coast last time, asserting at the finish; back up in trip and won impressively over this far at Ipswich on penultimate start so hard to oppose again.

Some really good racing overnight Down Under and we head to Doomben for our best bet where the unstoppable LYRICAL GIRL looks set to rack up the four-timer. She is improving all the time and has been so impressive lately. She should push forward again and may always be dominating here. Dotti Dear is a mare I like too and I think she is clear second best here. She did well to win last time given how she started and she is clearly going the right way too so has to be respected. Just bumping into one in the favourite though. Do fancy them to finish 1-2! Expert Eye might be value to fill the third spot as she has been running to a consistent level and is a big price all things considered.

Race 2 Ascot 5.15 Time To Sizzle (6/5)

Smart mare who looks to be hitting top gear now; first-up after 6 months off to justify favouritism at Belmont last time; capable of better yet and a repeat of that should see her in the winners enclosure again anyway.

Sticking with the thriving TIME TO SIZZLE here. She did it really well last time and is open to improvement. She will strip fitter for the run and looks a cut above these. She is up in trip but did run well when second over this distance so I see no reason why she won’t prove as effective as she looks a better mare all round now. Lacevinsky gets a good draw so has to be feared but I’ll be surprised if he’s good enough to overhaul the in-form favourite. Western Rhythm is promising and may well be the one to give the selection a race. She won by a nose when last seen but did pull hard so it was a good effort. Hard to recommend much else but Bolshoi Gal may end up being the best of them.
