Good looking sort who has won three of his five starts and finished runner-up on both runs when beaten; clearly smart and showed a great attitude to get up back from 3 months off at Doomben; not done improving yet.

The wide gate obviously isn’t ideal for SHOOTING FOR GOLD here but there is no denying he is a promising horse in the making and with 3 wins to his name already he looks the class-edge in this field. He is improving all the time and can take another step forward here and take this out. He showed a real likeable attitude to prevail by a nose on return at Doomben and will strip much fitter for the run. He has the scope to keep getting better and looks one to keep firmly on side. Good Chat landed a double before finishing fifth last time. His weaknesses were rather exposed on that occasion but make no mistake he is still a very useful individual and should give the selection a race.

Race 6 Gold Coast 5.38 Brazen Dynamo (7/4)

Progressive mare who really impressed back from 4 months off the track to win easily at Toowoomba earlier this month on rain softened ground; weight rise but fitter now and looks firmly on the upgrade so big chance.

Given BRAZEN DYNAMO wasn’t far away from the speed when winning so impressively last time I expect her to latch on to the early leader Palicki here and that could prove crucial as she looks to get first run on main market rival The Darling. The favourite looks firmly on the upgrade following a dominant win last time and with the promise of more to come after just 9 career starts she can win again. The second fav looked good winning her maiden at Sunshine Coast before breaking slowly last time and then fading. She needs to bounce back but if she does she looks the main danger to the selection. In Her Zone made up good ground last time and looks the value to run into a place.
