Race 2 Randwick 2.50 Mother’s Mercy (6/4)

Likeable mare who is a perfect 3-3 having ran on strongly to win impressively again at Scone last time; improving all the time and while this is a better race she looks up to the task; one to keep on side.

Great night Down Under last night as both the NAP & NB landed to bring home a 7/1 winner to welcome in 2021. We head to Randwick (Kensington) overnight for our best bet and MOTHER’S MERCY is taken to make it a perfect 4-4 for Tom Sherry and Paul Messara. She looks a mare on the up and really impressed last time. If she improves again she will be hard to stop. She does like to get back in her races but has a good draw here so while she should get covered up early I doubt she’ll be all that far away. Chewie Two and Lord Heron will take each other on up front and give her something to aim at. King’s Trust may be the one to chase her home as he has some useful form to his name.

Race 6 Eagle Farm 5.28 Ballistic Boy (7/4)

Useful type who has 6 wins from 18 starts and comes here on a real roll having won three of his last four; great attitude and unexposed over this trip so lots to like on paper and is sure to run another big race.

We head to Eagle Farm in the early hours of Saturday morning for our second best bet Down Under and the hat-trick seeking BALLISTIC BOY looks up to the task for Matthew Mcgillivray and Chris Anderson. He is thriving right now and with one win over this distance already he is open to further improvement over this trip and could really kick on now. So You Win has been performing at a consistent level and another win shouldn’t be too far away for him. I’d probably put him forward as the main danger to the favourite. Get Stuck In made all to beat Phaistos last time and I wouldn’t want to see him given too much rope off the front end. Entitled to plenty of respect as well.
