Race 3 Albany 8.07 Kendel’s Mee Dad (11/8)

Useful type who has a particularly good track record with 4 wins here from 7 starts including 2 places; back to form lately and is dawn to get the run of the race from gate one so worth keeping safe.

It’s a bit of a wait for the Aussie NAP on Monday as we head to Albany for our best bet Down Under. KENDEL’S MEE DAD looks to be rediscovering his form and back at this track which he loves he has a huge chance of getting his head back in front. He is one of those horses that needs it to drop right but will have no excuses from the plum draw inside. Stablemate Read The Riot Act has also been in good form and it wouldn’t surprise me if they rewarded the trainer with a 1-2 for the stable. Go Crying scored on penultimate start but was well held last time. If he is back to his best then he will have a say here but there is a question mark over him at the moment.

THE AUSSIE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 5 AT MUSWELLBROOK!

Race 5 Muswellbrook 5.35 Pure Fuego (13/8)

Likeable sort who has 2 wins from 4 starts and looks to be improving nicely now; built on that return effort to win at Tamworth last time; these conditions suit and he looks good value to turn over the favourite here.

We head to Muswellbrook for our second best bet on Monday and PURE FUEGO can win again. He is looking to make it 3 wins from 5 starts after impressing at Tamworth last time. This doesn’t look a great deal tougher so I think he has the ability to follow up. Iron Dome is the obvious danger as he was denied just a neck on his first start for 2 years at Gunnedah. He clearly hasn’t been the easiest to train though and is backing up quite quickly here. He wouldn’t be for me at a short price. Elvezio brings winning form to the table but this is tougher so he needs more to figure but does look best of the rest and might be a good bet to place in a race lacking strength in depth.
