Race 2 Canberra 2.55 Lady Of Luxury (10/11)

Did well to get as close as she did last time having been hampered at the start; not had much luck and some of her form stacks up so no surprise to see her strong in the betting to belatedly open her account.

The winning run of NAP’s came to an end last night sadly but we’ll be looking to bounce back on Sunday as we head to Canberra. LADY OF LUXURY is yet to make the breakthrough after 8 starts but she has finished second 4 times including last time and she has the strongest claims here on recent form. She was hampered last time so if she gets a clean run through she should have too much for these in the closing stages. Lord Desanimaux is a frustrating sort with just 1 win from 26 starts. He does look one of the dangers but surely vulnerable in terms of win purposes? Kristalove is unexposed after just 5 runs and has got her head in front so she looks the bigger danger to me.

Race 3 Sunshine Coast 3.20 Mood (1/1)

Good looking mare who has won 3 from 11 and looks to be improving all the time; plenty of encouragement to take from her third here back from 7 months off last time; fitter now and can get back in the winners enclosure.

It’s hard to look past MOOD here. She has a touch of class and that should be enough to take out this contest. She already has 3 wins and is proven at this track (2 wins) and over this trip (1 win). With further improvement to come and fitness on side she can prove the answer. Mr So And So is prominent in the betting but wouldn’t be for me. His record is strong over this trip so I guess that’s a positive but he is pretty exposed and I’m not sure if he has enough to win this. Mischievous Lad looks the threat. He won on penultimate start and had excuses last time – he’s better than that. None of the others make any appeal in a race lacking strength in depth. The favourite should prove too strong.
