Race 5 Pakenham Park 11.00 American Angel (5/4)

Progressive filly who showed promise on first three starts before making the breakthrough here in testing conditions last month; sure to improve again and looks hard to oppose; one to keep on side.

The Aussie NAP was back to winning ways overnight so hopefully we can follow up on Thursday as we head to Pakenham. AMERICAN ANGEL impressed last time and if she improves again as expected she should follow up. Smokin’ Romans already has 2 wins from 7 starts and has to be respected. He is open to improvement and ran well last time so looks a big danger. Mr Roger should run well but find a couple too good. Needs more on what we’ve seen lately. Boss’n The Moss might be overpriced in terms of a place as he won well on return and had excuses last time. Abreed has had just a handful of starts so has to be respected with the promise of more to come.

Race 7 Townsville 7.47 Rigel (6/4)

Useful type who did well to win last time given he was hampered near 200m; should be hitting peak fitness now and this represents a good opportunity to follow up; hopefully they go an honest gallop.

We head to Townsville overnight for our second best bet Down Under and RIGEL is fancied to follow up. He has 2 wins from 10 starts including 5 placed efforts so can’t be faulted for his consistency. If he matches the form that saw him win the last day I think that will be good enough to take this out. Galaxy Ghost is more exposed in comparison to the fav with just 2 wins from 21 starts. He has the form to figure but if the selection runs his race he should have too much. Hollywood Dreaming looks a bigger danger having ran well when second last time. If she builds on that she should give the selection a race. Willygood often promises a lot but hasn’t massively delivered. Could run well too.
