NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 4 AT ALBANY ON MONDAY!
Race 4 Albany 7.12 Material Witness (1/1)
Promising chestnut who is improving and impressed winning on return here before going down just a head last time; struck into early last time and overraced so should get back to winning ways if settling better.
It’s hard to get away from MATERIAL WITNESS here. He has a win and two seconds to his name from 4 starts and is getting better as he gains experience. He had excuses last time so he’s unlucky not to be coming here chasing a hat-trick. Convalesce won on penultimate start but wasn’t so good at Ascot and has a bit to prove after that. He’s been off 5 months since but if bouncing back should give the selection some sort of a race at least. Hoolahoops should be finishing strongly but she’s a place bet for me as she only has 2 wins from 16 starts. Our Pandemonium shouldn’t be far away but does need more on what we saw towards the end of her last campaign.

THE AUSSIE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) WON AGAIN ON SATURDAY AND IS NOW ON A HAT-TRICK!
Race 2 Mildura 4.30 Beautox (11/10)
Smart filly who has been knocking on the door; excuses last time but still ran a big race to finish second to Sparkup over track and trip; can do better and looks well placed to make the breakthrough now; most likely winner.
I can see BEAUTOX pushing forward here and she might not be caught. She is really getting the hang of things now and ran well again when second to a useful type in Sparkup. If she reproduces that sort of form she should be hard to peg back. Perficere lost the rider at this track on debut but has to be feared if things go to plan here as he didn’t go unbacked last time which is quite significant. Play On Words ran his best race to date when second last time and also enters calculations. Gatsby’s Girl has had enough chances for me and this looks quite strong so she’ll likely need a career best to figure prominently. Lime Spider, Cranky Sheriff, Tony’s Kick, King Slim, Sarasota Gold all have enough to prove.

The Australian Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the night to maximise profit. They run at Mildura and Albany in the early hours of Monday morning.
