Race 3 Kilcoy 4.04 Ready For Magic (11/8)

Useful type who made an eye-catching return shaping as though needing the run at Toowoomba last month; improved on that to get back to winning ways at Beaudesert last time; can build on that again so rates the one to beat.

The NAP drifted to 7/4 overnight but did the business. We’re now chasing a HAT-TRICK on Friday as we head to Kilcoy. READY FOR MAGIC won well last time and with added fitness he can go in again. This doesn’t look much tougher so he is clearly the one to beat again. Chill The Beer has 3 wins from 16 starts and has to be feared. He should come on for that last run and looks the main danger. Master Baylee has a wide draw but would also enter calculations if handling that. Poetic Choice is more exposed than most but has an inside alley and has the ability to run well. If the fav runs his race he should have all these covered though. Hard to recommend anything else at bigger prices.

Race 8 Cranbourne 12.00 Seb Song (5/2)

Promising sort who was crowded and ran keen when winning at Moonee Valley in November; learning all the time when last seen and given time since could have come on plenty; bright future and should win.

A big field for this but SEB SONG looks the most likely winner. He has the most potential in this field and with a handy 2kg claimer he looks the one to beat. The wide draw is a bit of a worry but I think he has the class to overcome it. A Pinch Of Luck has Stackhouse on and has been running well so looks the one likely to pick up the pieces if the favourite fails to fire. Scantoon is a good looking sort who also has potential but this does look tough. I think he’ll run well though so one to look out for going forward. Field Of Roses has just 1 win from 6 starts but may well run a place on the evidence we’ve seen so far. Plenty of strength in depth but nothing jumping off the page at bigger prices.
