Race 9 Grafton 7.25 Purrfect Deal (11/10)

Talented mare who has 5 wins from 9 starts and while she failed to fire at Eagle Farm last time that was a tough race and she began awkwardly; hard to oppose if back to her best as looks a cut above this field.

Oakfield Cherokee recorded a decent win at Wyong and won his only start at this track so he has to be respected but his overall record of just 2 from 11 is enough to put me off and I think PURRFECT DEAL is capable of further improvement so she gets a confident vote. She was lame last time so I think you can put a line through that. Either way this is much easier and she is the class angle in the race. If she gets back on track then she should take care of this bunch. Oakfield Cherokee is the most obvious danger but Polemic also brings winning form to the table. He is exposed in comparison to the front two but will pick up the pieces if they do fail to fire. Hard to see anything else springing an upset.

Race 2 Rockhampton 4.00 The Egyptian (5/4)

Smart type who comes here chasing a hat-trick after recording back-to-back wins at Mackay, showing a good attitude to prevail narrowly last time; won 3 times over this trip; looks to have plenty going for him.

The speedy THE EGYPTIAN can push forward and make all here under Wiggins. He has won 3 of his last 4 and is chasing a hat-trick now. His form stacks up and he has the right attitude to boot so from a good draw he can get these at it from the off. Princess Rules has 6 wins from 17 starts and looks the most obvious threat to the favourite again. She was edged out a nose by The Egyptian last time and should give him a race again. Fanaar has 4 wins from 16 starts and that form with Lefkas Island looks quite useful so I’d say he is best of the rest. Whether he can lay it down to the market principals is another matter though. Sanglier is more exposed in comparison to those mentioned and needs more.
