THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) WON AGAIN OVERNIGHT AND IS NOW ON A FOUR-TIMER!
Race 5 Swan Hill 6.25 Bainbridge (10/11)
Improving with experience and change of tactics cost him when third at Cranbourne last time; likely to go forward again now and should take a lot of beating with the promise of more to come; obvious chance.
The Aussie NAP won again overnight despite drifting out to 7/4! We head to Swan Hill on Sunday as we bid to make it FOUR IN A ROW and the progressive BAINBRIDGE should take a lot of catching. He looked a really nice horse in the making dictating at Ballarat so I’m not sure why they opted to hold him up last time as it just didn’t suit him. Back under a positive ride here he should have too much for them. Yulong Captain is clearly very talented but only has 3 wins from 20 starts so is a bit frustrating. If it drops right he could be the main danger to the favourite. Deserved is a likeable mare who continues to run well so she shouldn’t be all that far away either but vulnerable for win purposes.
rNB – Second best selection of the day
THE AUSSIE NB (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 4 AT KALGOORLIE OVERNIGHT!
Race 4 Kalgoorlie 7.48 Violation (1/1)
Likeable mare who will be given a bold sight up front having struck over this trip in the past; fitter now and this looks winnable so big chance of getting herself back in the winners enclosure; one to keep safe.
This might not take a lot of winning so with VIOLATION likely to push forward and lead them she might not come back. She should be hitting peak fitness now and with a win and two placed efforts from four starts over this distance it clearly suits her well. Canto De Guerra has just the 1 win from 10 starts and hasn’t been running well enough to win this for me. I think Scandolo might emerge as a greater danger as he won at Northam in December and should strip fitter from that Pinjarra run. Champagne Diva has 2 wins from 16 starts but has been poor lately. If she bounces back she could grab a place but looks vulnerable from a win perspective especially if she concedes the lead early.
