Race 5 Pakenham 6.00 The Mobot (4/5)
Likeable mare who is hard to oppose on recent form figures 1212; edged out less than a length last time and this looks easier so good reason to think she’ll push forward and make all here; going to be hard to peg back.
It’s hard to look past THE MOBOT here as she bids to make it 3 wins from her last 5 starts. She has good early dash and she should secure the lead before going on with it. If she gets into a nice rhythm off the front and doesn’t face too much pace pressure then it’s unlikely she’ll come back to them. Even at the time of writing she is being well backed so I think she’ll go off a warm order come post time. Strategist is unexposed in comparison but he is just 1 win from 7 starts so he is going to need to improve to trouble the selection and it looks quite a big ask at this stage in his career. Similar comments apply to The Marg Factor after just 5 starts but she does have potential going forward at least.

THE AUSSIE NB (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 3 AT MACKAY OVERNIGHT!
Race 3 Mackay 5.42 Tezoff (10/11)
Good looking chestnut who made it 3 wins from his last 4 swooping late to win convincingly over a similar trip to this last time; looks to have plenty in favour as he bids to land the hat-trick; keep safe against these.
This looks a good opportunity for TEZOFF to bring up the hat-trick. He is clearly at the top of his game right now and I think he is a strong play to make it 4 wins from his last 5 starts. Schappose is the obvious danger but he usually places rather than wins so if it comes down to the pair battling it out I know who I want to be on. Decroux is badly out of form and is hard to warm to but if he does bounce back he would be a danger to the front pair but I just can’t see it in current form. The rest all have something or other to find with Mystery Element looking exposed to the favourite. He has 6 wins from 45 starts so shouldn’t be written off but I’ll be disappointed if the fav doesn’t take care of these.
