Cork 1.15 Pirate Jenny (6/4)
Promising filly who didn’t go unbacked on debut beaten just half a length by a subsequent winner at Navan on debut last month; should be a lot more streetwise now and with usual improvement will take the beating.
The well bred PIRATE JENNY can go one better at Cork on Tuesday afternoon. She ran a really encouraging race on debut beaten just half a length and that form has worked out notably well since. The winner HMS Endeavour, third Red Lacewing, fourth Exquisite Acclaim and even sixth Pearl Palinka have all won their next starts. She is entitled to come on for that run and she looks well placed to go one better. Ecoutez also showed promise when third on debut and looks the most obvious threat to the favourite. She was beaten less than 2 lengths but that form hasn’t work out anywhere near as well. Invincible Spirit colt Coolmeen Royal looks the most interesting of the debutants.

Ayr 2.10 Mr Alan (7/4)
Promising colt by Ulysses; showed enough ability on debut behind some useful types to suggest he can improve enough to win a race like this; likely to have strengthened up and market certainly suggesting he is going to go close.
This looks between the front two in the betting and MR ALAN is readily preferred. He is by Ulysses and shaped as though he’d improve plenty for the run when down the field behind New Science at Yarmouth. Given time since and with improvement a near certainty he looks well placed to open his account. Capital Theory is the danger as he has form to draw on and does set the standard. Million Thanks is by Churchill and makes his racecourse debut here now. He will be one I’ll be keeping an eye on but I expect experience to count for plenty. Of the rest Allegedly is well related and is another newcomer to note. Hard to see Mintnthat or Belle Of Annandale proving good enough.
