Best Australian Horse Racing bets in Australia on Monday morning

AUSSIE DOUBLE LANDED OVERNIGHT! Racing to start a new week Down Under from Scone and Gatton. Overnight Double pays 5/1!

Alongside our best bets we have race-by-race bets below the main bets if you want to know what we fancy on the rest of the cards (just scroll right down to the bottom).

NAP – Best selection of the evening

THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) WON OVERNIGHT AND RUNS AT SCONE ON MONDAY!

Race 4 Scone 4.10 Off To War (13/8)

Promising mare who has already won 3 times from just 7 starts as well as two runner-up efforts; awkward start last time and overraced so that run best excused; hard to beat if bouncing back and worth chancing.

With yesterday’s winner Into The Fire taken out this looks a great chance for OFF TO WAR to bounce back. She completely blew out at Randwick last time but this is much easier especially now the original fav is out and her previous form is strong. She has already won 3 times and is open to further improvement after just 7 starts so gets a confident vote to rediscover her form. Deepstar is a decent yardstick and she has to be feared but if the selection does bounce back she will be struggling I think as she is vulnerable to an improver. Omar is exposed compared to the two mentioned above and he only has 3 wins from 22 starts so needs much more to mix it with the market principals.

NB – Second best selection of the day

THE AUSSIE NB (SECOND BEST BET) WON OVERNIGHT AND ALSO RUNS AT SCONE!

Race 5 Scone 4.50 Written Sun (7/4)

Good looking chestnut who made a bright start going down just half a length on debut having showed plenty of ability; sure to improve from that initial experience and looks to have found a good opening so leading claims.

The money was down for WRITTEN SUN on debut but he just came up short sadly. It was a very good effort though only being run down late by half a length. He will step forward from that and looks the one they all have to beat. He is still 7/4 at the time of writing but I think he’ll go off a lot shorter than that. Hallowed Son is the obvious danger but he is 0 from 5 so needs more to trouble the favourite. La Brea makes her debut for a top barn so has to be respected but she should come on for it. Chilko Lake should make into a nice filly in time and did show more when fourth at Newcastle but the suspicion is the selection is pretty useful so she is going to need plenty of improvement to figure here.
