Race 5 Newcastle 4.50 Jet Pack (1/1)

Well bred sort who has looked progressive in recent starts and ran on strongly from off the pace to win at Port Macquarie last month; only going to improve again and looks one to keep firmly on side as should be a cut above these.

Great to have the Aussie NAP back in the winners enclosure overnight and hopefully we can go back-to-back to start a new week. JET PACK impressed me at Port Macquarie and if he can transfer that form to this track he can make it 3 wins from 6 starts. He is progressive and his form stacks up so lots to like again. Endless River has 3 wins from 17 starts so is a fair yardstick but he needs more against an improver. Flying Pretty is even more exposed but should still get involved at some point so is also respected. Of those at bigger prices it wouldn’t surprise me to see A Million Dreams run into a place. He shaped well again when fourth at Grafton last time so has form claims for sure.

THE AUSSIE NB (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 7 AT ROCKHAMPTON OVERNIGHT!

Race 7 Rockhampton 6.08 Ahooshu (1/1)

Likeable type who impressed winning impressively over C&D on penultimate start last month; suffered a troublesome run when second at Mackay last time and better than that; should bounce back here and take this out.

The improving AHOOSHU ticks plenty of boxes here and I thought he looked a bit unlucky at Mackay last time where he met trouble. He is 4 from 6 over the trip and clearly is building a nice profile with 5 wins from 10 starts already including 4 placed efforts. Back at this track where he is 2 from 3 he should have too much for these rivals. Tru Blu Tango is starting to look fairly exposed with 5 wins from 22 starts but he is 4 from 6 at this track and all 5 career wins have come over this trip so I would say he is the danger to the favourite. Cardice won at Wangaratta on penultimate start and if she could return to that form that would see her involved too but probably for a place at best.
