Race 8 Launceston 10.30 Summer Fire (10/11)

Smart looking filly who has won 2 of her last 3 with both those wins coming over track and trip; getting better with experience and this looks a good opportunity for her to strike again before being targeted at bigger things.

I thought SUMMER FIRE was visually very impressive winning here last time and that was backed up by the clock. She is getting better all the time and this C&D clearly suits her really well. There is a fair bit of pace on so I just expect her to track them through again before hopefully proving the stronger in the run to the line. Entrapped is more exposed with 3 wins from 16 starts but has been in fairly good form so has to be respected especially in terms of a place. We Deserve This might be the threat as he is 2 from 6 and has run well over this trip before and should have more to come. Debrief won at Hobart last time but this is tougher so he’ll need to find more to back that up.

Race 4 Sandown 6.25 Viviane (11/10)

Good looking chestnut filly who took her form up a notch to score at Bendigo last month, nicely on top close home; more to come from her yet and this looks a good chance to win again so one to keep on side for now.

Hard to look past VIVIANE off the back of that convincing win at Bendigo last month. She has more to come after just the 6 starts and looks to have found a good opportunity to follow up. I doubt she’ll be given as much to do this time and for me she is a cut above these with potential for more. Rock Artist has 2 wins from 6 starts but finished last at Moonee Valley and in truth his last two runs have been poor so he has enough to prove coming into this. I Am War put it altogether to win at Geelong last time but this is tougher for sure so he’ll need to improve again to land a blow at the business end. Similar comments apply to Spirit Of Pepin who also needs to find more to get competitive.
