Race 2 Pinjarra 6.37 Reliable Choice (10/11)

Promising filly who went down less than a length on debut over slightly shorter here earlier in the month; crowded at the start and met trouble; sure to improve given how she hit the line and looks well placed to score.

We head to Pinjarra on Thursday morning for our best bet Down Under and RELIABLE CHOICE should go one better for Adam Durrant and William Pike. She ran a cracker on debut and was probably a bit unlucky. She is sure to be a lot more streetwise now and can see these off. Madame Wu had looked promising prior to finishing down the field here last time. If she can bounce back she could be the danger but does have enough to prove. Sally Can Wait is 0/6 but ran well at Northam on penultimate start and would also have some sort of a chance. Hart Trader finished last at Ascot last time and is hard to recommend off the back of that. Thunder Of Guns has shown ability and is best of those at bigger odds.

Race 7 Wangaratta 5.30 Lunar Hero (6/4)

Likeable type who was only denied narrowly at Moonee Valley last time and a repeat of that would see him go very close in this company; 2 of his 3 wins have come over this trip; looks to have plenty in favour again.

I’m expecting LUNAR HERO to take all the beating at Wangaratta on Thursday morning. He has run well since winning at Echuca and will find this easier. He has a big weight but has a class edge and should really be seeing these off. He was closing all the way to the line last time and looks to tick plenty of boxes here. Was Written has won 2 from 14 but is 0/5 over this trip and 0/3 at this track so enough negatives to put me off. Mysterious Art is a decent yardstick but he has just the 1 win from 15 attempts though it did come at this trip and this track should help so he might not be far away. Smart Design is proven over this trip and at this track so is comfortably best of the rest but was poor at Wodonga latest.
