Race 7 Caulfield 5.25 Sig Positano (10/11)

Tough sort who won well at Pakenham 3 starts back and put up two big runs in defeat since going down narrowly last time having run home well again; this easier and might not have as much to do this time so can pick them up.

This looks a great chance on paper for the tough and consistent SIG POSITANO to win again. He has already struck twice from just 5 attempts over this trip and his overall profile is quite progressive with 5 wins and 7 placings from just 23 starts. Plenty of upsides in this company and will take a lot of stopping under John Allen. Open Minded is the danger after finishing third in a good race at Flemington. He should go well but I just think the fav might have his measure. Damien Oliver saddles Muswellbrook at a double-digit price and he might be value to hit the frame. He is fairly exposed but he won on penultimate start and can be thereabouts. Neighbourhood is best of the rest.

Progressive type who has won 3 of his last 5 and was beaten less than a length at Sunshine Coast last month; form stacks up and going back up in trip is only going to help so looks to have plenty going for him here.

It’s hard to look past the improving SIR ROCKET here who just got caught wide last time before going down less than a length. He has 5 wins and 4 placed efforts from 11 starts and has done little wrong. This trip suits with 2 wins and 2 placed efforts from 6 attempts and it’s no surprise to see him figuring prominently in the betting at the time of writing. Star Of O’Reilly looks the danger on exposed form but the selection is open to greater improvement and might always have him covered. Only Wanna Sing has some strong form in the book and also has to be respected. Looks rock solid in terms of a place. Getyourgreyon is consistent enough as well and he shouldn’t be far away either.
