Race 7 Townsville 7.19 Tennessee Whiskey (11/10)

Likeable sort who has won 3 of his last 4 and made it 2 from 3 over this trip at Mackay last time; scored over C&D prior to that so on a real roll at present and with scope to improve again can complete the hat-trick here.

The Aussie NAP landed again overnight so we’re on a HAT-TRICK on Friday. Hopefully we can land another winner before a big weekend Down Under! We head to Townsville where TENNESSEE WHISKEY catches the eye. He has undoubtedly taken his form to a new level recently and was a convincing winner again last time. His form stacks up and with more to come especially over this trip he can win again for Ben Crear and Justin Stanley. The danger looks to be Light Field who has also won over this track and trip. He does only have 1 win from 17 starts to his name though so while I think he can shake the fav up I’ll be surprised if he goes through with it. Bravio best of the rest but needs to improve.

Race 7 Launceston 9.30 Galenus (15/8)

Progressive type who has won 3 from 4 at this track and has a nice profile with 5 wins from just 9 starts; solid effort back from 7 months off to finish fourth at Flemington; only going to improve; clearly the one to beat.

I’m quite surprised GALENUS is available to back at 15/8 at the time of writing. He is a smart horse and has 3 wins from 4 over the trip and is 1 from 2 at the track. He looked like he’d improve for the outing when fourth at Flemington on return and with natural progression can get back to winning ways. I think he could be targeted at some decent prizes down the line so definitely one to keep on side. Coronation Keith is promising with 4 wins from 5 starts. He lacks experience having never raced away from this track but has to be feared all the same. Deroche is more exposed with 13 wins from 22 starts but certainly knows where the winning post is. This should throw up plenty of future winners.
