Race 1 Rosehill Gardens 1.20 Kir Royale (6/4)

Progressive filly who was a big eye-catcher when runner-up on debut at Gosford and improved fast since then winning at Randwick and then backing that up convincingly at Canterbury; more to come so hard to oppose.

Despite meeting a bit of trouble in running KIR ROYALE still managed to work her way to the front and score at Canterbury. She is now 2 from 3 and with scope to kick on again she gets a confident vote to bring up the hat-trick. She looks a filly going places to me and I’ll be surprised if she is beaten. Kanazawa created quite a big impression winning on debut at Warwick before losing a plate and finishing fourth at Randwick. If he bounces back he looks the most obvious danger to the favourite. They both have progressive looking profiles. I Say Hello has already won 3 times and is also a decent yardstick so I expect her to be best of the rest battling out that position with Titanium Power who is 2 from last 3.

Race 5 Flemington 3.53 Not To Be Mist (6/4)

Useful type who did well to get as close as he did last time having got caught wide and hampered at one stage; won nicely here before that; arrives at the top of his game and wouldn’t need much more to win again.

Granted a better passage NOT TO BE MIST should be hard to beat here. He has 5 wins over this trip and has already scored at this track. He is 9 from 31 overall including 7 placed efforts as well and has a likeable, consistent record. Fundraiser would have been a big danger but he has been scratched now so this is easier than it had looked. Blazejowski has a similar profile to the selection so looks the most obvious danger. He will need to better that recent sixth though. This is easier and that winner Lighthouse looks a decent horse though so definitely worth noting. Here To Shock is unexposed in comparison to the front pair and can improve so certainly isn’t discounted in opposition.
