Race 4 Taree 4.25 Imatruestar (1/1)

Improving with experience and caught the eye going down narrowly on return over C&D last time; fitter now and has more to offer so looks well placed to go one better here; comfortably the looks one to beat.

We head to Taree in the early hours of Friday morning for the Aussie NAP and IMATRUESTAR can get himself back in the winners enclosure. He impressed at Grafton back in the summer and has acquitted himself well in defeat the last twice. He caught the eye breaking slowly over track and trip last time and finished well. He gets a handy draw here and I’m expecting a big run. The danger is probably Adamdeeant who landed back-to-back wins here before failing to fire at Gosford last time. If he can bounce back he should keep the favourite honest. Jazzles is also a decent yardstick and I don’t expect her to be far away but she is vulnerable for win purposes I think.

Good looking chestnut filly who struck over C&D on return and went down just a neck last time; hard to oppose with further improvement to come and should make it 2 wins from her last 3 starts; keep firmly on side.

I’m confident TILLY’S SECRET is going to take a bit of beating at Townsville in the early hours of Friday. She has really good form figures recently and has scope for further progression so should have too much for these. She will go forward and look to burn them all off. The danger is Kefalonia but he is more exposed compared to the selection and has just 3 wins from 17 starts so will need more I think. Pumps is a solid yardstick and should run well enough perhaps to place but with an overall record of 2/38 he surely needs more to spring an upset here? La Ready Rosa is another to note but also needs to find more to trouble the favourite who looks to have the most potential of these.
