NAP – Best selection of the evening

Lingfield 2:05 Lord North (11/10)

This very much revolves around LORD NORTH who is 8lbs clear of these on ratings. He won a Group 1 in Meydan after a long break last year so I think he will be more than ready for this. His has won multiple Group 1s so he will take some beating here for his trainer who has won the last 3 renewals of the winter derby.

The main threat looks to be Alenquer who is usually seen in Group 1s with his best performance last year a 2nd behind the classy Mishriff. He does have a fair bit to find with the selection though. Fancy Man has taken a liking to the all weather surface and should be in the 3.

Fairyhouse 2:00 Icare Allen (11/10)

Back in calmer waters ICARE ALLEN should be taking this Grade 3 contest. He really looked promising when winning well at Leopardstown over Christmas. He followed that up with a 5th behind the classy Vauban in the Grade 1 Spring Juvenile. That wasn’t as bad as it sounded as the winner is now the favourite for the Triumph at Cheltenham. This should be just the race he needs to add another win over hurdles.
 
The main danger in the race looks to be White Pepper who has some good form in the book already and gets weight form the selection.
