Race 6 Sunshine Coast 5.25 Amity Gal (11/8)

Good looking filly who made a winning start over shorter here back in January; backed that up with a solid third at Doomben last time; more to come for sure and low draw can help her; looks the most likely winner.

It was quite a tough night overnight Down Under so hopefully we can get back on track on Sunday. We head to Sunshine Coast for our best bet and AMITY GAL can resume her progress. She made a winning start here on debut and didn’t do a lot wrong at Doomben last time. Back to this track she remains unexposed and I expect her to make it 2 wins from 3 starts. Kollur looks a nice yardstick but she has just the 1 win from 7 attempts so a place might be her best bet. Discretely Aliesha comes here on the up having won at Ipswich last time and if she improves again she might emerge as the danger. Love My Super also has to be considered but she did disappoint here last time so enough to prove.

Race 2 Tamworth 2.35 Rockbarton Roman (6/4)

Improving with experience and ran his best race since debut when runner-up at Port Macquarie last month, going down just a neck in tough conditions; should relish going up in trip and good chance to make the breakthrough.

I think it’s hard to look past ROCKBARTON ROMAN at Tamworth on Sunday. This 3yo is getting better all the time and ran a cracker when runner-up at Port Macquarie last time. He won’t need to find much more to make the breakthrough and he is strongly fancied to come out on top. Classic Deel has a similar profile after finishing second on debut and if she improves she is the one I expect to fight it out with the favourite. Tyrol looks opposable to me so that might leave the unexposed Willing Tyson to battle it out for a place in behind the two market principals. Springstreet Blues is quite a big price too but I think he’ll be left vulnerable in terms of winning this but could snatch a place maybe.
