THE AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 5 AT EAGLE FARM OVERNIGHT!

Race 5 Eagle Farm 4.58 Festival Prince (5/4)

Promising sort who has won 5 from 8 starts to date; caught wide and looked to need the run when fourth on return; denied just a head last time given too much to do; can get back in the winners enclosure now.

I thought FESTIVAL PRINCE was given a mountain to climb last time. He missed by just a head to Bullfinch and gets a weight swing with that rivals now so should prove hard to beat with this extra yardage also sure to suit. The latter is the most likely danger again as he clearly took a liking to this track winning last time. He is 4 from 10 overall so has a nice profile as well. General Dubai has run well the last twice and could also get involved but needs more for win purposes. Enterprise Prince is more exposed but still has to be respected and should be in there pitching for a place as well. Guntantes best of the rest but needs to prove himself over this trip so is passed over on this occasion.

Race 6 Caulfield 6.30 Jump The Broom (5/4)

Unbeaten mare who improved again back from a break to make it a perfect 4-4 at Mornington last month; further progression on the cards despite cutting back in trip and looks the one they all have to beat.

I can see JUMP THE BROOM going off odds-on at Caulfield on Saturday morning. She is 4-4 and isn’t done improving yet. She had no issue making a winning return and has plenty in her favour again. She should get a good pace to target and will be finishing strongly. Chassis has some decent form in the book but she is just 1/6 over this trip which would have to be a bit concerning. Forever Free is 3/9 over the distance and might put up most resistance to the favourite. She is also proven at this track as well. Juan Diva might be thereabouts if producing her best but needs to up those runs at Flemington and Doomben recently. Hard to see any of the others being good enough to land a blow.
