THE AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN THE OPENER AT SUNSHINE COAST ON SUNDAY!

Race 1 Sunshine Coast 3.25 Invinovich (4/5)

Promising colt who ran green on debut beaten just a nose over C&D; probably improved third last time as was caught wide and was beaten less than a length; should be a lot more streetwise on return and can take this out.

It’s hard to look past INVINOVICH at Sunshine Coast on Sunday morning. This colt is clearly improving and he has been narrowly denied in two starts to date. He is likely to have matured since we last saw him and he should be a danger to all in here. Beach Lap is second in the betting and she is 0/5 so that says a lot about the lack of quality on show here. Serene Affair has a squeak but not on recent form as she has gone off the boil. Deluxe Legend ran a big race when second at Sandown on debut but hasn’t gone on since and while he’ll find this easier he has enough to prove on the balance of his form as well. Dragon Claws makes her debut and might run into a place.

Race 7 Dubbo 6.55 Dethroned (2/1)

Half-brother to dual-Group 3 winner and Group 2 placed Deprive; been a bit of a work in progress but it all seemed to click at Muswellbrook last time; more to come for sure and rates the one to beat again in this field.

Quite a big field for this but I’m very keen on DETHRONED following up. He will go hard fro the off and could just prove a cut above these. He is bred to be a lot better and may well come into his own now. Schiller’s Myst had some decent form in the book but she has failed to fire recently and needs to get back to her best to trouble the selection. Demeurer won at Moree but this is definitely tougher. He might be a live danger though. Blackadder is respected on exposed form but will need to produce his best and fluffed his lines at Wellington which wouldn’t see him competitive in this field. Pop Power best of the rest if rediscovering some form but that looks a big ask given what we’ve seen lately.
