THE AUSTRALIAN NAP WON OVERNIGHT AND RUNS AT DEVONPORT ON SUNDAY!

Race 9 Devonport 7.03 Dramazing (1/1)

Promising mare who has won her last two starts convincingly and looks likely to improve again as her stamina is drawn out up in trip; definitely one to keep on side and looks set to justify favouritism again.

The Aussie NAP drifted again last night but got the job done so hopefully we can make it back-to-back early on Sunday morning. We head to Devonport where DRAMAZING can bring up the hat-trick. She has really looked to be improving lately and this step up in trip is only going to bring about further progress. She is tough and likeable and really should have too much for these rivals so it’s no surprise to see her trading nearly a shade of odds-on at the time of writing. Always A Winner is the likely danger but he has tried this trip twice already with no luck so he’ll likely need a career best to make a race of it. The rest all look up against it and are hard to recommend even the exposed Gregorian Chant.

Race 8 Sunshine Coast 7.11 I Ponder (11/10)

Likeable type who has shown plenty of ability in 3 starts to date and very much caught the eye when third at Ipswich at the start of the month; started awkwardly but ran on well and sharper now; hard to beat up in trip.

Great chance for I PONDER to make the breakthrough on just his fourth start. He hasn’t had a great deal of luck but has been a work in progress and with this extra yardage likely to unlock further improvement he gets a confident vote to come out on top now. The bookies haven’t taken much chance with his price but I think that’s with good reason and he should be the answer. Ballistic Babe is second fav and is 0/5 so I think that says a lot about the weakness of the opposition in here. She is a decent yardstick and ran well when second last time but still needs to find more. Scenic Rim is 0/12 and has spurned a few good chances now so hard to see him springing an upset. The rest are pretty limited.
