Ripon 3.10 Haunted Dream (6/4)

Likeable grey who looked progressive winning at Beverley and then following up convincingly at Lingfield; bumped into a nice horse when denied half a length at Newmarket last week; hard to beat.

The NAP won again yesterday so we head into Sunday with confidence high! We head to Ripon where HAUNTED DREAM should prove hard to beat as long as a busy spell doesn’t catch up with him. He is clearly thriving on his racing and he likely even improved again in defeat at Newmarket last week. He was beaten just half a length at the finish and the winner Bolthole looks to have plenty of potential so that might be form that works out very well in time. Prior to that he has some strong form in the book beating subsequent winners in Outsmart and Udaberri so he is hard to knock. He runs off the same mark as last time and looks comfortably the most likely winner. Adjuvant is the likely danger.

Naas 3.45 New York City (7/4)

Improving colt who ran out a very impressive winner pulling 7 lengths clear to make a winning return at Navan; bounced out and made all at the same venue last month; this tougher again but one to keep on side.

Trading at around 16/1 for the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot next month NEW YORK CITY could end up being a lively player in that if he wins this well. He impressed beating a decent field last time and is on a hat-trick now. He is improving all the time and looks a colt to keep on the right side of today and going forward. He made all last time but I don’t think he has to lead and I think the best is yet to come with him. Straight Answer was just a length back behind the selection at Navan and looks the main danger again here. He has only had 4 starts himself so is open to further improvement so should run well. Twilight Jet has to be considered too on return but might come on for the run.
