Friday’s Best Tips

LET’S GET BACK ON TRACK ON FRIDAY! Racing from Brighton, Carlisle, Chepstow, Limerick, Fairyhouse, Stratford, Haydock and Pontefract. Daily Double pays 4/1!

NAP – Best selection of the evening

Carlisle 4.30 Makeen (2/1)

Caught the eye going down narrowly given a lot to do on return at Leicester last month; confirmed that promise to beat a subsequent winner at Musselburgh next time; solid run here latest and drop back in trip a big plus.

The drop back to 7f looks a good move for MAKEEN following a big run over a mile here last time. He was only vulnerable in the closing stages and his form this season has a progressive look to it so I expect him to have too much for these rivals. Dulla Bhatti went down just a neck in a small field at Wetherby last month and could be the danger if building on that again. He will go forward though and I think he might help set it up for the selection who will likely just look to track him through. Gobi Sunset was beaten a length by a big improver at Wolverhampton last time and also has a squeak but doesn’t look to have much in hand off his current mark. Barney’s Bay needs to find more.

NB – Second best selection of the day

MY NEXT BEST RUNS AT CHEPSTOW ON FRIDAY EVENING!

Chepstow 5.25 Amalfi Bay (5/2)

Progressive form up to a mile and a half at Epsom last year and while he went off the boil after he was back to form on return beaten just half a length at Nottingham earlier this month; hard to beat if building on that.

With talented 7lb claimer Harry Davies booked for the ride AMALFI BAY looks to have a great chance of getting himself back in the winners enclosure at Chepstow on Friday. He was only beaten half a length on return at Nottingham and if he builds on that stepping back up to a mile and a half now he should take a bit of beating here. Thai Power is the one being nibbled at in the market but he ran a stinker when last at Newmarket on return from a lengthy absence and he is going to need to leave that way behind to be a factor in the finish here. Maxine should enjoy going back up in trip and she might be one to surprise a few. The issue there is with just 7 runners there are only 2 places up for grabs.
