Race 3 Kalgoorlie 6.47 Hilton (11/8)

Promising sort who made it a perfect 2-2 over this trip winning here by a head last month; hard to knock on that form and won’t need much more to follow up here; improving with experience; the one to beat.

It’s hard to look past the progressive HILTON at Kalgoorlie on Sunday morning. He has won 2 of his last 3 now and with a low draw here there shouldn’t be too many excuses. He will likely get a nice toe in before proving too strong at the finish. Solarize is second favourite at the time of writing but he is pretty exposed and is a staggering 0/10 over the trip. 2 wins at this track but still hard to see him having enough to upset this favourite. Protected Action likes it here and is solid over the trip so might pose a greater threat but still lacks the potential the selection brings to the table. Bright Glow best of the rest but gone off the boil somewhat since winning at Northam back in September.

Race 6 Devonport 4.55 Julius (11/8)

Good looking sort who was right back to his best over track and trip last month winning convincingly; remains open to further improvement and hard to beat if in the same form; definitely one to keep safe at this track especially.

Hard to pick holes in JULIUS at Devonport on Sunday morning. He has won 3 from 5 at this track now and 3 of his 4 wins have come over this trip. He impressed last time and a similar performance would see him justify favouritism again. Reward Achiever won at Launceston and then was a good third here last time so might be the biggest danger off the back of that. Artuso is pretty exposed and is hard to recommend on his last two runs but obviously if bouncing back to his best might run better than that. Ubriaco is thriving having won his last 3 but this looks tougher and he might be found out. Our Shinkansen best of the rest but this has more strength in depth than when she won here latest.
