AUSTRALIAN NAP LANDED OVERNIGHT! Racing on Friday Down Under from Ipswich, Scone and Ballarat. Overnight Double pays 9/2!
NAP – Best tip overnight
MY AUSTRALIAN NAP WON OVERNIGHT AND RUNS AT IPSWICH ON FRIDAY!
Race 1 Ipswich 2.35 Sir Leonidas (11/8)
Promising type who was heavily backed on debut but inexperience cost him just overracing in the early stages before keeping on for third; sure to improve from that and good chance to get off the mark.
Just the 3 meetings overnight so not much to pick from but I do think SIR LEONIDAS will take a lot of beating at Ipswich. This horse showed more than enough on debut to suggest he has a bright enough future and given this looks winnable he should make the most of this opportunity. He is already quite short in the betting but that is likely with good reason. Rocky Ride makes his debut and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if he managed to put up the most resistance. Heroic Miss ran well on debut but failed to back that up last time so has a bit to prove. Intoxel is another one to note with that initial experience under her belt now but still she will need to improve a fair bit to peg back the selection.

Race 3 Ballarat 4.55 Simply Xtravagant (13/8)
Good looking chestnut filly who didn’t go unbacked on debut before finishing an encouraging third at Murtoa last month; will improve from that initial outing and looks hard to beat up against these.
Similar profile to the NAP in Australia overnight SIMPLY XTRAVAGANT showed enough on debut to make her a strong play at Ballarat. She went down 3 lengths and was backed like they thought a fair bit of her. I’m expecting her to improve from that and connections looks to have found a winnable opportunity for her now. Poiema has already had 3 runs and looks the danger if she can find further improvement. She raced wide without cover last time so that was a good run despite being sent off fairly short in the betting. Tequila Spirit has also been knocking on the door so needs respecting but again I’d rather side with the potential of the favourite against these as it looks very winnable to me.
