The Aussie NAP travelled best overnight before being run down so the winning run came to an end. We head to Doomben overnight on a busy night Down Under. Bring on the winners!

THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT DOOMBEN ON SATURDAY MORNING!

Race 7 Doomben 5.46 Desert Lord (6/5)

Smart type who quickened up impressively from off the pace to win at Eagle Farm on penultimate start; came late again last time when denied just a neck and the winner has franked the form since; goes well fresh so hard to beat.

We head to Doomben overnight for our best bet Down Under and DESERT LORD is fancied to get back to winning ways. He was impressive two starts back and looked a bit unlucky last time. The winner The Harrovian has boosted the form since and given time since the selection looks well placed to get back in the winners enclosure. Lubuk finished strongly to win over course and distance last time and deserved that having knocked hard on the door prior. Should go well but has his work cutout to fend off the favourite who looks in a different league to me. New Arrangement goes well fresh so may be the one to grab a place at a decent price. Not much else makes appeal.

Race 5 Ascot 7.04 Notorious One (11/8)

Improving sort who has won three of his four starts to date; showed a good attitude to get back to winning ways last time and is hard to pick holes in again here; this doesn’t look any tougher so obvious chance to go in again.

The Aussie NB went in overnight and we head to Ascot on Saturday morning where the progressive NOTORIOUS ONE looks well placed to strike again. He impressed last time and remains open to further improvement. This is easier if anything and I think he’ll take full advantage. Midnight Blue finished well when second to the selection and has a better draw so looks the danger again. Miss Marietta is going the right way but will find this tougher. Cuban Twist catches the eye as being the one that’s overpriced. She has five wins from 11 starts so certainly knows where the winning line is and should give her running. Good value to run into a place.
