Good looking chestnut who won his first two starts in the style of a very promising horse; slowly away when third at Eagle Farm last start last campaign; two recent trial wins to his name; looks ready to strike fresh here.

The Aussie NAP was back in the winners enclosure overnight and hopefully we can add another winner on Friday before heading into a busy weekend. We head to Sunshine Coast and the likeable SO CLEVER can get back to winning ways on his seasonal return. He looked a smart horse in the making last campaign and has plenty of upsides here after two recent trial wins. This trip suits him well and expect him to be well supported in the market. Shamrock Lu is going the right way now and has 3 wins from 8 starts so looks the danger off the back of that win over shorter here last time. Jetty is a decent yardstick but he probably needs more against a couple of improvers.

Race 8 Mornington 6.40 Apsara (7/4)

Promising mare who put it altogether to win convincingly at Dunkeld last month, nicely on top at the finish; improving all the time and looks well placed to follow up here from a good draw; hard to beat if all goes to plan.

The improving APSARA looks to have found the right race to follow up in at Mornington on Friday morning. She is a good looking mare who has scope to keep progressing and she impressed making the breakthrough last time. With more to come she gets a confident vote to follow up for Matt Cumani and Fred Kersley. Strategy has 2 wins from 11 starts and would be a danger on his best form but he finished last at Moonee Valley last time so has a bit to prove off the back of that poor run. He was only actually beaten 6 lengths though having got unbalanced so certainly not completely written off. Recent winner Miss Soluca is also worth a second look given this lacks strength in depth.
